Peace through international business and understanding from the mouths of babes

More on sheep today. I read in my local paper this morning that a group of Tunisian farmers is here on Gotland (Fårö, to be specific) to study local methods for small scale farming. They’re also interested in the Swedish method of forming farmers’ cooperative associations, which is new and different to them. They’re visiting farms throughout Sweden. When the Gotland contingent was planning the farms that their visitors were to see, they included several small pig farms. The son of one of the farmers involved in the project pointed out that as Muslims, the Tunisians don’t eat pork, so perhaps it would both uninteresting and an unpleasant culture shock to have them visit a pig farm. Smart kid.

Today’s knitting – none again, B is away so I’m working and taking care of the dog and the weather is pretty rotten, so I’m not interested in wearing anything but my toughest, most washable clothes. I did order Options needles from a place in England yesterday–even though KnitPicks won’t ship to Europe, you can find the needles over here. Can’t wait…..

Please don’t forget to add yourself to the map if you’re so inclined. Thanks!
